Short Explanation: Forge & ModLaoder are two different mods made by different people, but practically do the same thing. Some mods you download require Forge and some mods require ModLoader. Though you can only use one of them at a time either ModLoader or Forge. They are needed to run other mods, but especially Forge, which is what I would install. Good Explanation: Forge & ModLoader are the 2 most important mods in Minecraft. Most mods out there require either Forge or ModLoader, it will usually tell you at the page of download which it requires either Forge or ModLoader. The downside is that only one of them can be running at once so either the ModLoader or Forge meaning you can only have the mods running that use Forge at once or the one’s that use ModLoader. So if you are planning on downloading mods it is highly advised to download Forge and ModLoader since otherwise your mods will not work. Mostly all mods require Forge, but some require ModLoader, so I would just download Forge since the installation process of downloading Forge and ModLoader is very complicated and can take between 15 – 25 minutes if done correctly otherwise more!

I am sure that this will work for most people, I am especially sure that it will work on Windows since that is the device I used when I play with mods, but it probably works for Apple computers and laptops as well. Make sure that you focus while watching as it can get very confusing at parts.
